PRLog - Mar. 9, 2011 - Extricom Announces MultiSeries 500 and 1000

New 802.11n WLAN Switches With Port Expansion

New York, NY - March 9, 2011 – Extricom Ltd., a designer and manufacturer of high-performance, next generation wireless LAN (WLAN) infrastructure solutions, announced the MultiSeries 500 and MultiSeries 1000 wireless LAN switches, which are in production and available for order.

The MultiSeries 500 and 1000 bring port licensing to the Extricom switch lineup, providing customers with a more flexible platform that can grow with their requirements. The MultiSeries 500 and 1000 join Extricom’s 802.11a/b/g/n switch line.

The MultiSeries 1000 is Extricom’s high-throughput 802.11a/b/g/n switch for large-sized areas of high-capacity, seamless WLAN coverage. It is expandable from 8 to 16 GbE ports in 4 port increments, stackable, and s/w upgradeable. The MultiSeries 1000 platform also supports Extricom’s TrueReuse™ option, which multiplies the downlink bandwidth of a channel blanket by up to an additional 300%.

The MultiSeries 500 is Extricom’s high-throughput 802.11a/b/g/n switch for moderate-sized areas of high-capacity, seamless WLAN coverage. It is expandable from 4 to 8 GbE ports, stackable, and s/w upgradeable.

The MultiSeries 500 and 1000 support the Extricom Operating System (EXOS). The EXOS is upgradeable, providing switch owners with access to new features, and excellent investment protection.

Like all Extricom switches, the new switches support Extricom’s Channel Blanket™ architecture. The Channel Blanket harnesses the high bandwidth potential of 802.11n, and is therefore particularly suited for deployments in bandwidth-intensive applications such as the education, medical, and general office verticals, as well as in RF noise-intensive verticals such as logistics where noise immunity is critical.

The Channel Blanket eliminates the complex RF cell-planning normally required for 802.11n, and also eliminates the co-channel interference that can severely degrade 802.11n throughput. Consequently, Extricom customers already today are realizing the true potential of WLAN technology with rock-solid connectivity that is almost impossible to achieve with other WLAN architectures.
