March 9, 2011 - PRLog -- “Our primary focus is the application of our local resources to create real sustainable jobs for Georgians”  ‘At this event, actors will be cast in movies, movie distribution deals will be sealed, and talents ready for their opportunities of a lifetime will have the chance to take it.

“If you are ready to face the future of independent film industry in the South, then you are at the right place at the right time”, said Jenee Woodley, Community Affairs Director, Lantawood Inc. “With the May 2011 launching of a new and unique distribution model focused on the independent film industry, we now have a clear indication that independent movie distribution has arrived in a majorly portable way.”

According to Jenee Woodley, “we have tested the Lantawood distribution system over the last 3 years and now it is time to fully launch all its components to the benefit of the South. It is time for our people to take on these opportunities to create jobs, and revenue for our communities.”

On March 26th 2011, Lantawood Inc, will be holding it’s first community recruitment event at the Greenbriar Mall, a few blocks from the Tyler Parry Studios.
This event will feature among others,
•   An audition for actors ages 7 and up for paid feature film acting opportunities.
•   Registration for the free Acting Bootcamp, sponsored by the Atlanta Police Athletic League and beginning on April 1st 2011
•   Registration for the film production training, sponsored also by P.A.L. which offers  “hands on” training and guidance in the fields of Script Writing, Camera Operating, Film Producing, Directing and Styling/Makeup for film. The age recommendations for the class is 14 years and older.
•   Internship recruitment for individuals looking for a “hands on” practical approach to getting involved with the growing film industry. Opportunities include but are not limited to distribution, sales, marketing and promotions.
•   Opportunity for artists to submit their sounds and music for use in movie soundtracks.
•   Opportunity for local business to register their businesses, locations or made in Atlanta products for placement and promotion in “made in Atlanta “films
•   Opportunity for local film Producers to submit their films for distribution

There is much talk among independent Producers and Directors that obtaining viable film distribution these days is nearly impossible. According to Namso Akpan, Executive Director for the organization, “one of the benefits of having our own industry is the ability to guarantee film distribution to local producers. This is the needed catalyst in generating real job opportunities..”
The recruitment will be held from 3pm till 6pm, at the Burlington Stage inside the mall. This, not only is the opportunity to get involved with the growing film industry, but to do a little shopping with the family, at our mall
This is the vision of LANTAWOOD, an industry with unlimited opportunities for all.”
