Scrum developing for Auckland rugby rentals

PRLog (Press Release) - Mar. 8, 2011 - New Zealand Rugby homes company 80 Minute Game Ltd is reporting an increasing demand for rental homes in some parts of Auckland, during Rugby World Cup 2011. “We’re at 80 percent of capacity now – demand since the start of the year has been ramping up and we are looking for another 100 houses at least,” said Director Sue Robinson. “Apartments in the central city are popular, as are suburbs such as Westmere, Grey Lynn, Ponsonby, St Heliers and Kohimarama. We are looking for properties in these areas to fill enquiries for dates around the semi finals and finals.”
Sue said that in particular they are looking for groups of neighbouring houses or apartments that can be rented as a package. “We are seeing family and sporting groups who want to stay near each other, so anything from three to 15 houses in the same street or suburb are keenly sought after.”
The company has been wait-listing guests in Wellington and Christchurch since last year, as demand has been strong, but Sue said that the recent increase in enquiries for Auckland houses is good news for home owners there. “It’s good to see it is Auckland’s turn.”
