March 8, 2011 - PRLog -- Cambridge, Ontario - - Paper Crafters all over the world will take time during the month of March to celebrate National Craft Month 2011.  The Craft and Hobby Association estimates over 60 million households engage in some form of crafting each year.  Whether it’s needlepoint, beading, scrapbooking or card making, millions of people enjoy creating personal works of art.

Why is crafting so popular?

Crafting allows people to channel their creativity in a very satisfying way, as well as share that creativity with others.  Studies conducted by NYU and Harvard show there are physiological benefits as well.  Crafting can reduce stress and increase physical dexterity.   The report also shows crafting improves concentration, while enhancing health and mental wellness.

National Craft Month is the perfect time to try a new craft or hobby.  Andrea Walford, founder of Paper Crafters World encourages people this month to learn a new craft or sharpen their existing skills.  Walford believes now is the perfect time to explore the many different benefits of crafting.

Andrea explains why she loves crafting:

"Paper crafting is a way of life for me,” says Walford.  “It's a way of spending time and connecting with my 5 young children.   It's also a form of therapy when I need to escape from that busy life.  And I'm fortunate enough to have been able to create a full time income for my family through my crafting"

Andrea urges former crafters to start crafting again and newcomers to jump into this fun and exciting pastime.  She is celebrating National Craft Month by offering a free video tutorial series on her website, http://www.papercraftersworld.com.

Andrea is also available for media interviews to discuss National Craft Month and the benefits of discovering a craft that taps into your creative potential.  Please use the contact information provided to schedule an interview.
