March 8, 2011 - PRLog -- NAOHSM’s (National Association of Oilheating Service Managers) continues its mission of delivering high-quality, educational programs to the industry through its Train-the-Trainer program.

NAOHSM has been delivering Penn State management classes for a number of years. This 2½-day program includes a special Train-the-Trainer class that has been extremely popular.

The reaction to the Train-the-Trainer course at Penn State spurred NAOHSM to create an entire program around the Train-the-Trainer concept. They realized that those who train or want to become better trainers would benefit from a program designed just for them. The Train-the-Trainer program is customized to help trainers enhance their skills and learn more about various technical topics. Train-the-Trainer course participants are managers and sales personnel who work for service companies, manufacturers, and wholesalers, as well as instructors. Many of them already provide training for their companies, local chapters, and schools, but they need practice and positive critiquing from their peers.

Since the Train-the-Trainer program was born, NAOHSM has offered several one-day courses around a different topic each year. In 2009, the focus was on ECM Motor Training and last year there was a special program led by industry manufacturer, Field Controls. The topic for 2011 is Basic Electricity.

This year, Carol Fey, a well known industry expert, will deliver four, one-day classes just for trainers so they can teach the technical topic of Basic Electricity. Carol is a degreed, technical trainer who has worked in the controls industry for over 25 years. The American Society for Training and Development named her National Technical Trainer of the Year. Carol has also written several books – Quick & Basic Electricity, Quick & Basic Hydronic Controls, and Quick and Basic Troubleshooting. (Visit www.carolfey.com to learn more about Carol.) During this course, trainers will gain practice, learn ways to design props to enhance their training skills, explore ways to better explain wiring diagrams to their audience, and learn techniques about wiring and working with 24-volt electrical connections.

Classes will be held on April 19 in Baltimore, MD; April 20 at Stevens Technical College in Lancaster PA; April 22 in Pennsauken, NJ; July 26 in Concord, NH; July 27 in Auburn, MA; and July 28 in Cromwell, CT.

Another Penn-State-delivered, 2½-day Train-the-Trainer workshop will be held at the ICPA School in Cromwell, CT from June 21-23.

To register for any of these classes, visit www.naohsm.org or contact 888-552-0900.

It is not a requirement to be a NAOHSM member to attend any of their classes or their Annual Convention and Trade Show (taking place May 22-26, 2011 in Hershey, PA), but NAOHSM does welcome you to join. So what are you waiting for?  See what NAOHSM has to offer and test drive it by joining them for a class.
