March 8, 2011 - PRLog -- SiteGround.com, a hosting company with a wide Joomla-related service portfolio, has announced that it is now fully compatible with the new major Joomla version – Joomla 1.6. During the last couple of months SiteGround started offering a free Joomla 1.6 installation and transfer as part of their hosting services. SiteGround also released detailed Joomla 1.6 tutorials and were among the first to offer free Joomla 1.6 templates. The process is now fully completed by the release of the new versions of their in-house Joomla extensions.

SiteGround seem to have followed closely the development of the new Joomla version and were ready to accommodate websites using the new platform right after its release this January. The company also started providing Joomla 1.6 support including free installation and transfer to users who chose the SiteGround hosting package just few days after Joomla 1.6 was publicly launched.

The first Joomla 1.6 templates by SiteGround were also released shortly after the official Joomla 1.6 launch. The company's free Joomla templates have always been well-known among Joomla users and the company says that their 1.6 templates have already been downloaded more than 50,000 times. "We believe the great interest is due to the fact the templates are stylish and simple and that makes them suitable for a wide range of different websites." says Kate Ivanova, Marketing expert at SiteGround. The new templates can be found at the SiteGround Joomla templates gallery (http://www.siteground.com/joomla-templates.htm).

Joomla users will also find useful the SiteGround Joomla 1.6 tutorial. It provides detailed instructions on how to use the new Joomla version. It includes articles such as First steps in Joomla 1.6, Managing Joomla extensions and Global Configuration Settings.

And as a last step in getting ready for Joomla 1.6, last week the company announced in its blog that it has launched new versions of its in-house Joomla extensions. Joomla 1.6 users can now protect their projects with the jHackGuard plugin for the 1.6 version, as well as use the other Joomla extensions, which SiteGround have recently updated for the new release.

"We host more than 80,000 Joomlas on our servers. That is why we know how it works and what its users need. We knew that everyone was excited about the new Joomla version and that is why we were ready to accommodate it so fast" says Nikolay Todorov, CTO at SiteGround.
