Linfield College ranked 21st in nation for study abroad

March 7, 2011 - PRLog -- McMINNVILLE, Ore. — The Institute of International Education ranked Linfield College 21st among U.S. baccalaureate institutions for participation in study abroad, with 72 percent of all Linfield students experiencing cultures and countries outside the U.S.

“Providing students with a strong global perspective through study abroad experiences is critical in a world shaped by new challenges,” said Shaik Ismail, director of International Programs at Linfield.

The college provides all students, regardless of major or discipline, the opportunity for life-transforming scholarly and humanitarian experiences in countries around the globe, and even provides the first round-trip air transportation from the Portland International Airport.

Linfield offers January Term and semester abroad studies for regular students and year abroad studies for foreign language majors. Students can study in a variety of places including Hong Kong, England, Ecuador, Australia, Japan, Ireland and Spain.
