Personal Training Business Owners Participating in LA Marathon with 82-Year-Old Client

March 7, 2011 - PRLog -- Fitness Together of Santa Monica,Los Angeles co-owners and siblings Kyle Radomski and Kelly Blackwin are gearing up for Los Angeles’ number one marathon, but they aren’t doing it alone - 82 year-old Fitness Together client Carmelita DeHaven has been training to join them in the 26.2 mile event. On March 20, Blackwin, Radomski and DeHaven will participate in the 2011 Honda LA Marathon, presented by K-Swiss.  

DeHaven came to Fitness Together in December of 2010 to help prepare for the marathon. She is a member of the L.A. LEGGERS, a running and walking club, which is how she learned about Fitness Together.

“Carmelita told us she wanted to participate in the LA Marathon and wanted our help getting stronger for the event,” said Blackwin. “We started her on a strength training program and, since Kyle and I were already training for the marathon, all three of us now train together.”  

In addition to strength training with Fitness Together, DeHaven walks her high-mileage distances on the weekends and shorter distances during the week.
