March 7, 2011 - PRLog -- We Figured it was about time we gave you a little update on what's been happening at Velocity Recordings and Eden Music PR.

We've been busy driving around the country scouting new bands and artists and as a result we'll be releasing some VERY sexy records this summer.

We are also very excited about the launch of Club Eden at the Face Bar in Reading, UK this May. Our very own, hot sweaty live music/club night in conjunction with Club Velocity and the White House Studio.

SCREAMABALLERINA

Hot new buzz band, ScreamaBallerina is the edgy, alt-rock lovechild of 21 yr old, steam punk Princess, Charlie O'Connor.

A Brighton studio project, until now.

They've got hooks, riffs and ear-splitting chaos and this summer ScreamaBallerina release their debut single Skeleton Army.

Their live shows have got everyone talking and just last week they got the 'perfect 10' across the score board at a major A&R showcase that saw all the judges on their feet, proclaiming they were most definitely IN.

On Friday 18th March the band will play an exclusive major A&R/Industry showcase at Concorde 2 in Brighton, they did battle with 100s of bands for this coveted slot.

'Much anticipated track Skeleton Army is just dripping with unapologetic catchiness and will have their fans clambering to join the Screama Army. This isn't just a band this IS the future'

THE NEON MILE

What can we tell you about our newest find - The Neon Mile? They've been known to jam with Art Brut and Fenech Soler. Drummer, Fred's former band toured with The Bluetones. They are truly eccentric young men and have some of the best stories (not to mention songs) that we've ever heard.

They've been tucked away in their studio by the sea writing songs and when Eden/Velocity came across them we couldn't believe that labels weren't banging down the door. The bands simple answer to this was 'we're a band, we're not businessmen, we write songs'.

Their debut single will be released on Velocity Recordings in June, followed by their album in early September.

'The Neon Mile make some of the most decadent, cleverest, catchiest music we've ever heard, and if Weight in Gold doesn't become the soundtrack to your summer you don't deserve an ice cream, in fact you don't deserve a summer''

*More news, photos, music and interview opportunities with The Neon Mile coming soon*

ATTENTION THIEVES

The Attention Thieves single Let it All Out is available to download now, it was produced by Dave Chang and we are very proud of it.

Let it All Out is the only track we've ever worked on that hasn't had a bad review, and it sold more downloads in the first 2 days than their last single sold in 6 months. The boys have really upped their game and with record merch sales and gigs coming up all over the UK and some heavyweight industry starting to sit up and take notice, this is the time to get on board.
They've recorded 2 new singles with John Mitchell at Outhouse and they are currently making their debut video scheduled for general release in May.

'It just IS rock. So, if you want rock, allow me to recommend the latest single “Let It All Out” from Attention Thieves Crank it up, tap your foot, bang your head, and enjoy the unadulterated rock. That’s right, play this and I dare you not to move your head''

Words about Velocity Recordings -

Sid Siddle of Velocity Recordings started the legendary zine, Abuse in 1993. He gave Radiohead their first ever front cover. 14 issues later he started Abuse Records and released VyVyan, Pin Ups and Abuse Your Friends compilation Cd's, to name just a few. Tony Defries (David Bowie, Iggy Pop) who had started to manage VyVyan, asked Abuse to find a metal girl band. Abuse changed it's name to Velocity (due to some unfortunate misunderstandings about what 'Abuse' was..) and they released SugarComa in early 2000. Steve Lamacq and the late John Peel were supporters of all things Velocity. Club Velocity has been running in Reading and London over the last 10 years and has put on shows and has been supporting artists like Ben Marwood, Bloc Party, MidiMidis, the Good Natured, Peers and about a million other bands ever since.
