RecruitMilitary Schedules Free Veteran Opportunity Expo for Houston on April 7

The military-to-civilian recruiting firm RecruitMilitary will present a free employment, business-opportunity, and education event for job seekers who have military backgrounds at Minute Maid Park in Houston on Thursday, April 7.
 
March 7, 2011 - PRLog -- Cincinnati, OH -- The military-to-civilian recruiting firm RecruitMilitary will present a free employment, business-opportunity, and education event for job seekers who have military backgrounds in Houston on Thursday, April 7. This event, the RecruitMilitary Veteran Opportunity Expo, will take place from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Minute Maid Park, home of the Houston Astros. The event will be open to veterans who already have civilian work experience, men and women who are transitioning from active duty to civilian life, members of the National Guard and reserves, military spouses, and other military family members.

A large array of veteran-friendly organizations will conduct one-on-one interviews with the job seekers—organizations that will include corporate employers, law-enforcement agencies and other government employers, franchisors, and educational institutions. Already in the line-up are Alcoa Inc., AutoNation, Aviation Institute of Maintenance, Baker Hughes, the Baytown Police Department, Belhaven College, Capital One, CenterPoint Energy, Chevron Texaco, DeVry University, Eaton Corporation, Express Energy, First Command Financial Planning, Geo Group Inc., Goodman Manufacturing Company LP, Goodyear Chemical Plant, Grand Canyon University, ICDC College, Mustang Cat, My Computer Career, Nalco Energy Services—Downstream, the National Veterans Employment Program (NVEP) of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, Navy Recruiting District Houston, Northcentral University, Petro-Log International Incorporated, Plastipak Packaging Inc., Remote Imagery Technologies Inc., St. Thomas University, Signal 88 Security, Strayer University, The Art Institutes, The Home Depot, The Ocean Corporation, The Kroger Company, TRAX International, Troops to Teachers, Tulane University, United States Secret Service, Walgreens, and Wells Fargo Advisors.

RecruitMilitary (http://www.recruitmilitary.com ) will produce the Expo in cooperation with The American Legion (http://www.legion.org), an association of veterans who served during times of war. The Legion has about 2.4 million members in 14,000 posts throughout the world. Congress chartered and incorporated the association in 1919.

RecruitMilitary has scheduled 49 additional Expos for 2011.
