The New 2011 Toyota Prius has arrived at Vancouver Toyota Dealer

March 7, 2011 - PRLog -- To maximize mileage, the 2011 Prius is equipped with three driving modes: Eco, Normal and Power. Each individual mode offers different levels of performance as well as efficiency. The most fuel efficient is the Eco mode, follow up is the Normal mode, and the least efficient is the Power mode. The EV mode on the Prius is designed to completely turn off the gasoline engine and operate on battery power alone. The EV mode is available only at 25 mph or less. With a regenerative braking feature, the new Prius is able to recapture braking energy to recharge its batteries.

Under the hood, the new Toyota Prius is powered by a 1.8-liter inline-four cylinder engine that produces 134 horsepower and 105 pound feet of torque. A 60-kilowatt electric motor is also available.

Standard features on the base Prius include an auxiliary audio jack, power windows and automatic door locks, remoteless key entry, Smart Key, a tilt and telescoping steering wheel and two auxiliary power outlets. Higher trims offer additional features including an upgraded audio system with satellite radio, Bluetooth connectivity and steering-wheel mounted Bluetooth hands-free phone-calling controls. Also available for upgrade is a voice-activated touch-screen DVD navigation system.

A Touch Racer Display is considered to be a standout feature of the new 2011 Toyota Prius. The Touch Racer Display is a series of touch sensors on the steering wheel. It allows the driver to select audio controls as well as trip display without having to take eyes off the road.

Safety features of the new 2011 Toyota Prius come with a driver and front passenger Advanced Airbag System, driver and front passenger seat-mounted side airbags, driver knee airbags and front and rear side curtain airbags. Also standard is Toyota’s Star Safety System. The Toyota’s Star Safety System includes helpful features such as Enhanced Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, Anti-lock brakes, and more.
