By: Tokiwa T. Smith The STEM Career Fair and Exhibition is the signature event for SEM Link’s Math and Science Career Academy, which exposes K-12 to math and science through hands on activities, real-world applications and career exploration. The purpose of the event is to expose K-12 students to the various careers and applications in these disciplines. Exhibitors, professionals and students in these disciplines, will feature their careers, conduct hands-on demonstrations or showcase real world applications of math and science. The event will be set up similar to a job fair in which students will visit exhibitors’ tables. “We are very excited to host this event for another year to expose Metro Atlanta youth to STEM careers” Executive Director and Founder Tokiwa Smith said. “Each year our attendees leave the event excited and engaged about STEM and we look forward to the same thing happening this year”. SEM Link is a tax-exempt nonprofit organization, founded in 2005 in Atlanta, Georgia, that promotes student achievement and career exploration in math and science for K-12 students by connecting them with individuals with backgrounds in science, engineering and mathematics.
