What started as a small venture by a local insurance professional Mr. William Gray has quickly become one of Carmel Indiana's fastest growing small businesses. According to Mr. Gray what makes this company different than other insurance agencies is the activity model and the support offered to his people.
In a tour of Mr. Grays organization he explained that all of his marketing is done in house. He explained that this allows him not only to control the cost but also the response on demand. That he can make an agents phone ring on demand with 72 hours notice.
What does all this mean? Well the proof is in the pudding they say. Mr. Grays organization started with himself and two other agents he now has 3 full time salaried agents with 8 additional contracted agents who are on track to meet salary qualification in the next 8 months.
When asked why his agents are staying Mr. Gray smiled and said they have a place to go every day. There is no uncertainty in their day to day life..."If you know you are going to make $80,000 dollars this year and someone offers you a position where you could earn $90,000 the uncertainty is just not worth it".
According to Mr. Gray his growth model is slow and deliberate he only hires those he can train and support so he doesn't have agents competing with each other for the same resources. But in the 92 counties in Indiana he knows by the demographics that he can support 50 agents in a full time capacity and is looking ahead to developing the next leg of his growth plan in Michigan, Illinois, Ohio and Kentucky.
