Peoria’s Blu Agave Arizona Kitchen Goes Green (Chile) for St. Patrick’s Day

The Peoria restaurant will serve green Chile stew, green Chile Cheeseburgers and small green goddess salads for only $5 each. On the drink side, Irish Car Bombs will be available for $6, Irish whiskey for $5 and green beers for only $2.

March 5, 2011 - PRLog -- Peoria, AZ,  -- Blu Agave Arizona Kitchen has a different take on St. Patrick’s Day green this year, with a special holiday menu that highlights the restaurant’s “green” southwestern cuisine while saving customers the green in their wallets.

The Peoria restaurant will serve green Chile stew, green Chile Cheeseburgers and small green goddess salads for only $5 each. On the drink side, Irish Car Bombs will be available for $6, Irish whiskey for $5 and green beers for only $2.

“We saw St. Patrick’s Day as an opportunity to have some fun with the menu and offer an Arizona take on what’s considered an Irish holiday,” said Managing Partner Christina Ricke of the St. Patrick’s Day menu.

Since opening in January, Blu Agave has been a runaway hit with north Peoria residents. The restaurant’s menu was crafted by Chef Charles Wade Schwerd to reflect the flavors and tastes of the Arizona cuisine he’s enjoyed all his life. Dishes like the Argentinean Gaucho steak, with chimichurri sauce, queso fresco mashed potatoes and caramelized onions, have quickly become house favorites.

Located in the community of Vistancia in Peoria, Blu Agave Arizona Kitchen reflects Schwerd’s culinary pedigree but without any pretension. The casual interior invites you to relax, the outside patio allows you to drink in the surrounding desert views and the private dining room and gorgeous bar fit your dining needs.

Schwerd, who also owns Arrowhead Grill in Glendale, has spent the past two decades carving out a reputation as one of the Valley’s finest chefs at restaurants such as Scottsdale’s Mastro’s Steakhouse, Mastro’s Ocean Club and Drinkwater’s City Hall Steakhouse as well as John Elway’s Steakhouse in Denver, Colo.
