Fike Acheives UTC Gold Supplier Status

March 7, 2011 - PRLog -- Fike announces that it has achieved UTC Supplier Gold status, a program established by United Technologies Corporation (UTC) to facilitate and accelerate superior performance and to recognize suppliers for their exceptional performance. The program features four achievement levels, with Gold being the highest achievable level.

“Fike has long been a supplier of pressure relief solutions to Pratt & Whitney, a UTC company,” explained Penny Ursino, Fike Applications Manager, Pressure Relief & Explosion Protection.  “Recently, Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne worked closely with Fike to solve a specific challenge, and when they visited the Fike facility in Blue Springs, MO they were very impressed.  They thought Fike could meet the Gold Supplier criteria and encouraged us to become involved in the program.”

The UTC Supplier Gold program was developed in order to improve and reward excellent performance within the UTC supply network   The program has corresponding metrics in quality, delivery, customer satisfaction, and lean scores.  

“The process of achieving any of the performance levels includes an extensive performance analysis, self-assessment, market feedback on customer satisfaction and a GAP closure plan,” continued Ms. Ursino.  “In addition, we interact with many Pratt & Whitney personnel, and they were all interviewed as to what it was like to conduct business with Fike.  The entire process was quite intense and thorough.  We were excited to have reached their top performance level.”

The benefits to suppliers who reach the Supplier Gold status include reward and recognition through exposure to UTC supply management leadership and leading industry publications, as well as Gold Supplier on-line tools.
