Guida’s Milk & Roses for Autism team up for Autism Awareness Month

March 4, 2011 - PRLog -- Guida’s will be promoting Roses for Autism on specially marked gallons of Guida’s 1% milk for the entire month.  

Roses for Autism is a training and employment program based out of Guilford CT.  The program operates out of the largest rose farm in New England and provides commercial work experience for individuals with autism.  The program allows individuals with autism to work at the farm in an integrated environment and prepares them for successful transition into the workforce in agriculture and other businesses in CT.  Roses for Autism grows, cuts, packages and sells amazing full fragrant blooms that can be shipped nationwide (www.rosesforautism.com).        

With 1 in 110 children being diagnosed, many people are affected or know someone on the autism spectrum.  Autism is a life long journey and does not end as child enters adulthood.  There is a need for programs that will help adults and your young adults learn the necessary skills to be successfully employed.  Roses for Autism is the first business endeavor for Growing Possibilities, a nonprofit founded by Ability Beyond Disability that is dedicated to growing independence in the business world for individuals on the autism spectrum and other disabilities.

Guida’s Milk recognizes the amazing roses that can be grown with amazing people at Roses for Autism and is helping to spread the word across New England.
