ATS’s eSHOP straight fin heat sinks with superGRIP™ heat sink clip are available for BGA package sizes from 17mm to 45mm.  Heights range from 7.5mm to 17.5mm. Their thermal resistance characteristics are as low as 2.8°C/W (unducted airflow).   The product meets Telcordia GR -63-Core Office Vibration, ETSI 300 019 Transportation Vibration, and MIL -ST D-810 Shock Testing and Unpackaged Drop Testing standards.

superGRIP™ consists of a carefully designed and molded, industrial grade plastic frame and precision engineered metal clip.  superGRIP's™ specially engineered design, when applied to a semiconductor, creates a uniform pre-load on the chip.  When phase change thermal interface material is used as well, the superGRIP™ pre-load creates the precise pressure necessary to get the maximum performance from the phase change material.  The combination is extremely effective at cooling even the hottest semiconductors, especially at low air flows.  superGRIP's™ design removes any need to drill holes in a circuit board.
