March 3, 2011 - PRLog -- On the occasion of Women’s Day 8/3/2011, Vietnam Heritage Travel happily brings our friends a tour that will lead us into fascinating villages in northern, central and south Vietnam where we will have the opportunities to visit and study the cultural and textile traditions of several minority groups and how to cook in Vietnamese cuisine. Meet the locals when you visit villages and markets including Red Dao, Flower and Black Hmong, Lu, Nung and Giay communities. Discover the diversity of their colorful costumes and dress.  Learn how the Red Dao creates their unique embroidery pieces when you take a lesson from the ladies of the village. You will also enjoy a visit to the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology.

Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi Arrival (D)

Welcome to Vietnam, on arrival at Hanoi's Noi Bai International Airport, our tour guide will greet and transfer you by private car through the city to your hotel. In the afternoon, enjoy a visit to the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology. In the evening, you will enjoy welcomed dinner at local restaurant with authentic Vietnamese cuisines. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 2: Hanoi – Mai Chau ( Hoa Binh)( B, L, D)
We leave Hanoi for Mai Chau (Hoa Binh Province) for 3 hours. This lush area is inhabited by several ethnic minorities, including H’mong and Thai peoples. From the top of Cun Mountain, one can view this lush green valley dotted with wood stilt houses below. After a tasty Vietnamese lunch, we will go toward the village Ban Lac. Along the way, we could see children running about, men immersed in building or repairs, and the women sitting by their handmade textiles, gently enticing us to buy a lovely scarf, bedspread or trinket. In the evening, we enjoy a musical presentation by local dancers and singers. At the end, we sip traditional Ruou Can” (rice whiskey) from a long-curved reed. Overnight in Mai Chau.
Day 3: Mai Chau – Hanoi – Sapa ( Lao Cai Province) (B, D)
In the morning, you can walk to the local market. Here we see all kinds of food and clothing for sale. In the afternoon, we leave Mai Chau for Hanoi and then have dinner in Hanoi. Wait for the train to Sapa at night. Overnight in train.
Day 4. Sapa day tour (B)
Today, we are able to see the three main ethnic minorities that live in this area: black H’mong, Red Dao and Flower H’mong. In the afternoon, we can view most intriguing work & collection of ancient designs of local weaver, enjoy bast fiber (smashing, bleaching...), visit indigo or hemp farms and study batik & tritik technique and H'mong and Dzao textiles. In the evening, enjoy the traditional musical performance of H’mong people. Overnight in Sapa.   

Day 5: Sapa – Bac Ha – Hanoi ( Lao Cai Province) (B)
Today, we drive from Sapa to Bac Ha. Bac Ha is a small town famous for its colorful Sunday market. The Flower H'mong women wear checkered head scarves and brightly colored tops and skirts decorated with elaborate embroidery. The main goods on sale here are livestock such as buffalos, pigs, chickens, and horses, local products like rice wine, household items, brightly dyed wool, hill tribe garments, and ethnic handicrafts such as jewelry, baskets, and textiles. In the evening, take the train back to Hanoi. Overnight on train.
Day 6: Hanoi – Danang – Hoian (B)
Enjoy free time in the morning until we transfer to Noi Bai International Airport for a flight to Danang, and then continue to Hoian. Hoian is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, mainly because of its Chinese, Japanese and European influenced architecture. In the afternoon, spend time to visit silk and handicraft villages along the Thu Bon River. The evening is on your own schedules. Overnight in Hoian.
Day 7: Hoi an (B, D)
This morning, the market tour will give you an insight not just into the scents and flavor of Vietnamese herbs and spices but also market culture - how to bargain and where to buy your goods. Our chef will talk you through today's dishes then leading you through each dish, giving you plenty of opportunity to get involved and try your hand at reproducing the flavors for dinner. Dine on the dishes you have just prepared. We will also supply you with a recipe containing all the information you need to reproduce an authentic taste back home. Your evening is at leisure. Overnight in Hoian.
Day 8: Hoian – Danang - Ho Chi Minh (B, D)
At leisure after breakfast at hotel, we transfer to the Danang International airport for a short flight to Ho Chi Minh. This afternoon will be your first exploration of the Ben Thanh Markets. Half of this huge city market is filled with traditional food vendors and the other half with shoes, bags, embroideries, cosmetics, lacquer ware and textiles … lots of beautiful fabrics – shop till you drop! Enjoy warm dinner at the restaurant and then free evening for your own Hochiminh discovery. Overnight in Hochiminh.
Day 9: Ho Chi Minh Departure (B)
Leisure to enjoy Ho Chi Minh until the departure transfer to airport for your departure flight. End of the tour.
