Follow on Google News | LPU Imparting Physiotherapy Training to Punjab Government Teachers under Sarv Shiksha AbhiyaanA Series of training sessions has been organized in the Physiotherapy department of LPU which is to impart training to the IERTs from all the districts of Punjab. Training will be given in 6 batches by the end of March 2011.
By: LovelyProfessional University The inauguration ceremony was held at Shri Baldev Raj Mittal Auditorium of the university. Madam Adarsh Kaur,CEO, SSA Jalandhar was the chief guest of the occasion. Mr Jai Vishal, Coordinator SSA Jalandhar was the guest of honour and Er H R Singla, Director General LPU, presided over the ceremony. Dr Monica Gulati , Dean LFAMS and HOD , Physiotherapy Department accompanied him. Many IERTs were also present along with Students and faculty of Physiotherapy Department. Welcoming all the participants on this occasion, Er Singla said: "We are happy that our university is imparting training to form an army of trained persons who in turn will be able to wage a war against ailments going door to door with a message and guidance of awakening. Our Department of Physiotherapy will certainly prove itself up to the expectations entrusted upon it, leaving no stone unturned." Under six groups the training will be imparted to 376 IERTs from different districts of Punjab, separately and systematically as per the schedule. It has begun with Jalandhar (remaining), Kapurthala (remaining), Amritsar, Fatehgarh Sahib to continue for Ferozepur, Faridkot; Patiala, Mohali, Ropar; Sangrur, Mansa, Barnala, Bathinda, Moga; Nawanshahar (remaining), Hoshiarpur (remaining), Gurdaspur, Tarn Taran and ending with Ludhiana, Muktsar on 29th March, 2011. It is worth noticing that Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) is Government of India's flagship programme for achievement of Universalization of Elementary Education (UEE) as mandated by 86th amendment to the Constitution of India. It is being implemented in partnership with State Governments to cover the entire country and address the needs of 192 million children in 1.1 million habitations. End
