March 2, 2011 - PRLog -- Community Options, a national nonprofit organization that develops homes and employment for people with disabilities will be working in partnership with Hopewell Township to develop the first green, sustainable group home for people with disabilities in New Jersey.

The organization is working to partner with corporations who have a mission of providing sustainable products and building materials for the purposes of providing in-kind sponsorship towards the development of the home.  Companies that partner with Community Options will have the opportunity to have their company name marketed nationwide while at the same time providing much needed supplies and products for the building of this home.

Recently, KVAR National (Wired 2 Save, LLC) a National Distributor of the products known as KVAR Energy Controllers joined Community Options to become a Headline Sponsor of the Greenbuild project in Hopewell, NJ. The KVAR Energy Controller recycles the magnetic field of the motor and thereby reducing the amount of electric energy to do the same level of work. In technical terms, this means the implementation of a methodology that could effectively optimizes Power Factor (PF) to unity or 1.0 for motor loads.

The KVAR Energy System donated to the Greenbuild will reduce the overall electric bill by 6-10%.

Plans call for the construction of this home to be LEED for Homes certified. The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council, which provides standards for environmentally sustainable construction Project architecture. Environmentally friendly from start to finish, additional project details call for the disassembly of an existing large barn, relocation and renovation of a smaller barn, dismantling of the original farm house and construction of a new sustainable Community Options home.

The organization is accepting applications from companies until March 31, 2011.  Applications can be found at http://www.comop.org/greenbuild.html.  For more information about Community Options, please visit www.comop.org.
