By: Silvia Brenes - The project “Live life in colour”, created by students of the Master’s Degree programme in Retail Design, is opening on Thursday 24 February - The aim of the design, which will be on display until the beginning of April, is to arouse sensations using images of spring Opening: Thursday 24 February Place: Sony Style Barcelona (Rambla de Catalunya 121) Duration: from 24 February to beginning of April 2011 Key words: Sony, Elisava, design, retail design, university, business, innovation, creativity, trends, visual communication, concept Photo: ELISAVA students Pablo García-Dié, Eduardo Hernández Mont and Cynthia Ratkevicius are the three students on the Master’s Degree course in Retail Design at ELISAVA who created the project “Live life in colour”, the new design of the shop window of Sony Style Barcelona, located at Rambla de Catalunya 121, which will be on display from 24 February to the beginning of April. SONY and ELISAVA have collaborated for the third year in a row in the holding of a workshop, lasting two months, based on the design and production of the display window of Sony Style Barcelona. On this occasion, the aim of the project is to arouse sensations via images of spring. The students have been inspired by SONY products and the Hindu Holi festival, which celebrates the arrival of this season with an explosion of colour and energy. The basis for “Live life in colour” is pure lines and saturated colours, both in the images and the shapes, so as to tie in the latter’s elegance with the SONY products, on the one hand, and to provide a functional space for the creation of a versatile display adapted to user requirements, on the other. The project’s colour scale, based on pigments used in the Indian festival, highlights its vitality. “Live life in colour” reflects the interaction potential between universities and companies to develop real projects, which promote students’ learning and give them real work experience. They also provide companies with the possibility of obtaining specific responses to their requirements within the dynamic, innovative and creative context of a university. The workshop format is a methodology ELISAVA has used for 50 years, and which aims to bring the business and academic worlds together to work on professional projects both parties can benefit greatly from. The project has again involved the collaboration of the company EssaPunt for the manufacturing, production and assembly tasks. Project credits: SONY Héctor Arjona.
