By: Finesepr March 2nd, 2011 IIM Lucknow's Lateral placements 2011 witnesses the participation of over 75 firms ICICI made 22 offers followed by Deloitte's 20 offers 25 first-time recruiters The Silver Jubilee celebrations of IIM Lucknow coincided with a stupendous showing in the Summer Placements 2010. This resounding success has been mirrored at IIM Lucknow’s Lateral Placements 2011. Termed as the Higher Entry Placement Process (HEPP), it provides an avenue for recruiters to find a suitable channel for meeting their mid and higher level management requirements from the diverse batch of IIM Lucknow. IIM Lucknow has always believed in giving due importance to work experience while admitting students to the prestigious Post Graduate Program in Management (PGPM). As such, over 50% of the students were eligible for HEPP. The graduating batch at IIM Lucknow brings with it rich pre-MBA background diversity and work experience - the average duration being 34 months. HEPP witnessed participation from over 75 firms offering roles across functions ranging from Consulting, Corporate Finance, IT Sales to Merchandising. The highlight of the HEPP was an offer made by a pioneer in the private equity space, Baring Private Equity, one of only two made across campuses in India. Deustche Post DHL (DPDHL), the world's leading mail and logistics services group, made an offer for its in-house consulting profile in Singapore. Amazon, another firm of equal repute made an offer for its internationally reputed BOLD profile. Traditional recruiters like Aditya Birla Group, Capgemini, Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, ICICI Bank, L&T, Mahindra & Mahindra, PricewaterhouseCoopers and RPG continued their relationship with IIM Lucknow. In terms of number of offers, ICICI Bank led the pack by making 22 offers & it was closely followed by Deloitte’s 20 offers. ICICI Bank recruited for its Investment Banking profile from IIM Lucknow while HDFC Standard Life Insurance offered its coveted Strategy role. Niche profiles given by Thomas Cook and Fujitsu were popular amongst the students. International offers were made by Ernst & Young Dubai, Olam International and HCL among others. This placement season also witnessed the participation of 25 first-time recruiters such as Adani Group, CEB, Ford IT, HP, i3 Consulting, Info Edge, Infomedia, JLT Group, Nereus Capital and Target. IIM Lucknow students were also offered HR roles in firms like Glenmark and BA Continuum, thereby marking our foray into the Human Resources domain. Finally, prestigious IT firms such as Amazon, Google and Microsoft IDC showed interest in recruiting from the talent pool of IIM Lucknow for its Product Management and Online Sales & Operations profiles. Judging by the response to the diverse batch at IIM Lucknow by leading firms in HEPP, IIM Lucknow is confident of capping off a buoyant placement season with an equally prolific Final Placement Week.
