Baby Beauty Pageants – What Do You Think

What do we think about Baby Beauty Pageants? Find out how costly pageants can be for parents? And should we be judging such young children in this manner?

March 1, 2011 - PRLog -- After taking the US by storm baby beauty pageants have recently spread across the ocean to the UK. Children and babies from just a few months old can partake in competition for big cash prizes. But do us Brits find it acceptable to parade babies modeling swimming costumes, makeup and even sometimes fake tans?

When introducing your little bundle of joy to the beauty world costs can soon mount up. In the pageantry world babies are judged on their whole package, you need to catch the judges eyes; with makeup, hair styling, outfit, manicures and more. Babies (http://www.modelsdirect.com/become-a-model/babies/) also require the ‘x-factor’, a sweet smile, twinkle in the eye or charisma that draws the attention. Many people say contestants are born with these skills.

For assistance on your little one’s wardrobe, hair and stage routines parents can hire a pageant coach. Although hiring such help could set you back anything between £20 and £100 plus per hour. Many coaches insist that toddlers who are coached will do well and often win top trophies and prizes after just a few coaching sessions.

There are some pageants out there which do not allow makeup on children under the age of 13 years old. In these cases the wardrobe is still an essential pageantry expense. Most competitions will contain a beauty, swimsuit and a talent (http://www.talentmanagement.com/) event, for which three outfits are required. One outfit will need to be dressy and glitzy in order to impress, this usually mean expensive.

At the end of the day is there a difference between your child modelling (http://www.modelsdirect.com/become-a-model/children/) a Disney princess outfit at home or to a birthday party and forking out hundreds of pounds to compete on the big stage based; putting your babies looks to scrutiny at the age of only a few months. Were all entitled to our opinion, what’s yours?
