RecurTrack Adds Importing Bank Statements to Its Monthly Budgeting Tools

RecurTrack's monthly budgeting tools adds a convenience feature that now allows for the importing of bank statements from banks and credit unions.

Feb. 28, 2011 - PRLog -- RecurTrack announced today that they have completed adding and integrating the ability to import bank statements into the expense tracking element of their monthly budgeting tools.  This new feature adds the ability for users to not only manually input their actual expenses to be compared with their budget; it also allows them to import bank statement files.  This new feature from RecurTrack will add a new level of convenience to the monthly budgeting tools that are available at http://www.RecurTrack.com.

Currently, the file format that has been made available to be imported is OFX files.  This type of file is the most widely used and accepted format for banks and credit unions.  This means that this is going to be the file format that is available to most users from their financial institution.  The ability to use these files allows users to have a convenient method to track financial expenses.

To make it even more convenient, this feature includes the ability to ignore repeatedly entered transactions.  This meant that if a user imports a file from their bank for the previous month and then enters a month’s worth of expenses a week later, the program will know to import only those transaction that do not already exist on the user's RecurTrack account.  This allows users to not have to worry about getting the exact starting date for the OFX file.

Wade at RecurTrack says that "our products are still new by internet standards since we launched the site last September.  The exciting part is that we are constantly working on new features to improve the user's experience in maintaining their monthly budgets, and the ability to import these OFX files is the next logical step in providing the best experience possible."
