Homeless New Yorker Reunites With His daughter after 11 years thanks to Twitter

A New York homeless man with help of a Twitter account manages to reunite with his lost daughter. A number of tweets made it possible.

PRLog (Press Release) - Feb. 28, 2011 - As part of a localized project for homeless persons, Daniel Morales was given a prepaid
cellphone and a Twitter account in which he could tweet his regularly events, supplying followers with a look of what it is like to be homeless.
After a number of weeks of tweeting, Morales' Twitter followers expanded to over 3,000.

Just after getting into the process of tweeting, the 58-year-old proceeded to use the social networking online resource to search for his 27 year old daughter he hasn't known in 11 years. Making use of few misspelled words Morales distributed a tweet that read;
"Hi thi is to let yo people know that in lookin eoq my daughter her name is sarah m rivera," ,
making use of following tweet consisting of his mobile phone number and a photo of his daughter, Sarah.

A person secretly contacted Sarah Rivera to let her know that her father was alive. She picked up her phone and phoned her estranged biological dad, They both made arrangements to finally meet up with with each other in Bryant Park on Friday 25th of February.
When Morales got at Bryant Park and met his lost daughter, he also met his grandchildren for the first time, Neveah 4, and Akai who is 1.

The program that made this achievable,"Underheard in New York" is the brain child of a group of interns from Bartle Bogle Hegarty advertising agency.

“We decided that we wanted to make people listen, and make a difference,” said Rosemary Melchior, one of the interns. “I don’t think we ever expected something this big".
Morales and three other homeless men who acquired the mobile phones stay at the New York City Rescue Mission in Lower Manhattan.
Morales lost his Harlem apartment home two months ago, when he couldn't pay his rent. Morales stop working as a security guard when he damaged his back in an accident.

Morales said later, The most important thing is to remain a part of the lives of his daughter and grandchildren.

Morales continues to use Twitter .
