At first, I thought, "What is connection between 'LightMasters' and the number 13?" With intriguing back story and curious hints, the reality blossoms. A number, with significance in many of our lives, turns out to be enlightening. "Light" envelops the characters' lives as they journey onward past the paths of Sartan. This witty story travels along the choices we make and their consequences. With courageous leaps, the main character, Jessica, counteracts the dark forces that pervade her reality. The author, M.G. Wells, captures the profound unknown while invoking what can be.

"M.G.'s breakout novel, LightMasters: Number 13, is a unique, witty, well-written story that stands out from the rest. All the characters are interesting and well formed, especially the protagonist, Jessica. On her thirteenth birthday Jessica discovers she has special powers. I enjoyed moving along with Jessica through her exciting journey through the magical Otherworld, where she encounters numerous challenges and magical beings from cool to creepy.

M.G.'s descriptions of her diverse characters kept my interest. I believe younger readers will identify with Jessica, and enjoying her colorful expressions. As a teacher, I truly liked the way the story deals with the topics of behavior, bullying, self-confidence, bigotry, prejudice, friendship, forgiveness and compassion. If you love fantasy, I recommend LightMasters: Number 13 by M.G. Wells. It's a real page turner!"

"MG's debut novel is awesome! I'm a single dad with an 8 year old daughter, who LOVES fantasy. I bought the book for her birthday and she read it straight through the night. She loved the lead character, Jessica T. Wyrd (pronounced WORD, not WEIRD) because she was feisty and strong. She also thought the gassy grandparents were very cool and funny.

I haven't seen my daughter like a book so much since the Harry Potter series. Recently, I also read the story myself and loved it! It's a major thrill ride, and the characters are so exciting and diversified. I, and my daughter (who insisted I review this book everywhere I could), highly recommend this book to ALL fantasy lovers."

"This is an amazing fantasy. I've never heard of MG Wells and would like to see this awesome author write a follow up to this book. It all starts on Jessica's 13th birthday. She's mad about living with her wacky grandparents, who bicker most of the time. The grandparents are hysterical Welsh relics, who eat and fart and turn out to be really cool old dudes. I loved the pace and spirit of this book and plan to buy it for my fantasy freaks book club members. For the price, I highly suggest you buy this book. It's exciting, thrilling and has lots of cool and crazy characters. I don't want to give away the story. For all you fantasy loving freaks, I hope you buy this book. It's a great read. I want MORE. Rock on, MG! I can't wait to read the next book to see how it all turns out."
