New Publisher: Weaver Publications has announced the publication in paperback and electronic version of Hawthorne's 'The Scarlet Letter' This version is revised by popular author Jim McGuiggan. The book can be enjoyed now in our modern language. Here's a classic novel that's more than a great read…it offers profound insight into the human heart and behavior.
This is one of McGuiggan favorite books. In modernizing it he aims to make it accessible to and appreciated by today's reader.
"If you purposed to read this justly famous novel you purposed a great thing. If you started reading it in the past and gave up on it that's too bad but it's perfectly understandable. The style is simply too demanding for the most of us in this modern era. Hawthorne wrote it in English of course but it's like a foreign language. Well, all right, I've exaggerated but not by much [go to the public library and see for yourself]. This book though is just too wonderful to be missed and it's my hope that this modern adaptation makes the novel easily read and enjoyed." –Jim McGuiggan
