Main Line Private School Athletes Recognized by Bicentennial Athletic League (BAL)

Four Devon Prep varsity basketball players received honors for their performance throughout the season.
 
Feb. 26, 2011 - PRLog -- Four Devon Prep Varsity Basketball Players were recently recognized by the Bicentennial Athletic League (BAL) Independence Division.  Senior center Duncan Becker was named to the Independence Division All League First Team.  Junior point guard John LaPrise was also named to the First Team.

Becker averages 15.3 points per game and LaPrise averages 13.3 points.  He also set a school record for career rebounds with 621.  He passed the previous record of 620 set by 1990 graduate Michael Jordan.

Juniors Kyle Koehler and Stephen Kohlbrenner were named to the All BAL Second Team. Koehler averages 11.7 points and Kohlbrenner averages 14.4 points per game.

Competing in the Bicentennial Athletic League Devon Prep’s varsity basketball team finished the season with a 19-6 record under the direction of Coach Bill Frio. They won the Radnor Tournament in December after defeating Radnor High School and Chichester High School. Becker was named MVP in the tournament and Koehler was named to the all-tournament team.

Devon Prep is the District 1 Class AA champion and will play the District 12 representative for a spot in the state playoffs.

Devon Prep is a private, Catholic, college preparatory school for young men in grades six to 12 conducted by the Piarist Fathers.
