By: Spruce Pine Main Street Thousands of visitors from all over the world have walked through the doors of the Home of the Perfect Christmas Tree Store in downtown Spruce Pine to hear the story of the project and to purchase handmade products from the region. “This project has grown and exceeded many of our expectations,” The Home of the Perfect Christmas Tree project will be celebrating its customers and the community that has supported it for the last five years with a month long celebration and first ever sale beginning in March. “Our product makers and our staff both wanted a way to thank the community and our customers for all of their support. This project would never have reached the success that it has without them,” said Hise. During the month of March, a 20 percent off sale will begin on most of the products in the store. Other products will be offered at half off. “There has never been a sale on the handmade products at the store, however our product makers have generously offered to put their products on sale to show their appreciation to our customers,” said Hise. “This sale, and the month long events, is a great time for our customers to come into the store to enjoy the savings as well as to see the new products on display. Also, we will be sharing with the customers who come into the store in March the big plans and changes that will be coming to the project this summer,” said Hise. The Customer and Community Appreciation event at the Home of the Perfect Christmas Tree begins Friday, March 4, 2011. Customers can visit the store at 262 Oak Avenue, Spruce Pine or https://www.facebook.com/ # # # From that original idea, the Home of the Perfect Christmas Tree project was born. With entrepreneurial development as a primary focus, the project has created nearly 100 individual small businesses that have produced quality, handmade products as part of the Home of the Perfect Christmas Tree collection. The project also serves as a scholarship tool, with a portion of royalties received from product sales used to fund a scholarship program is to combat the alarmingly low student retention rate at Mitchell High School, the only high school in the county.
