Feb. 25, 2011 - PRLog -- THOUSAND OAKS, Calif., February 24, 2011 -- Nexsan®, a leading provider of disk-based storage systems purpose-built for the mid-market, today announced that Walter Palhetas, senior vice president - Americas, has been named a 2011 Channel Chief by Everything Channel’s CRN Magazine. The publication also included Nexsan in its recently published CRN Data Center 100 list which features the top 100 vendors powering the data center.

This year’s Channel Chiefs were chosen by Everything Channel’s editorial panel based on criteria that included policy and program innovations made during the past year, the amount of revenue their company generates through partners, their willingness to speak out publicly on behalf of the channel, and the number of years they have been dedicated to channel activities.

"We are proud of our channel relationships, program, and effectiveness,” said Palhetas. “We do everything we can to make Nexsan channel partners successful, from lead-generation programs  to a complete suite of training modules on Nexsan and the company’s product line, and much more."

Palhetas has more than 20 years of consulting, sales, business development and executive management experience.  Prior to joining Nexsan, he was an executive consultant with Securit, where he was instrumental in providing a restructuring strategy that positioned the company for growth and resulted in its successful acquisition.  He was also vice president of Americas at Pillar Data Systems and held management positions at SUN Microsystems, QLogic, Troika Networks and Storage Technology.

“Being named a Channel Chief is one of the most prestigious honors in the IT industry,” said Kelley Damore, VP, editorial director, Everything Channel. “Top channel executives consistently ensure that the Channel’s voice is heard when strategic decisions are being made and continually nurture relationships. We applaud this year’s Channel Chiefs for their successful partner programs and strategies.”

Nexsan Named to CRN Data Center 100 List
Identified by the editorial staff, the vendors featured in the Data Center 100 list offer products that have helped increase data center efficiency, performance and ROI while reducing energy consumption, waste and cost.

"Nexsan was a pioneer in the development of low-cost, large-capacity storage systems featuring SATA and SAS technology," CRN noted in the Data Center 100 list. "The company also offers storage appliances to meet compliance or deduplication requirements. Many of Nexsan's storage systems include AutoMAID®, a technology that powers down unnecessary storage disks to cut power and cooling costs."
