Designer Fashion Show in aid of Shanti International Charity
Following the success of the mini fashion show at their World Aids Day event last year, Shanti International is going bigger with more extravagant designers and entertainment. There will also be a wine reception and free canapés, which will be hosted in the lovely Blackall Studios in Shoreditch.
The theme is about collaborating bold, bright colours and prints with modern and classic tailoring, which creates not only a fascinating catwalk but also exciting new collections that are both accessible and wearable. Designers Emile Car and Cheema both graduated from London College of Fashion and have been active in the fashion industry by receiving accolades and developing their own unique brand and style. “We don’t use prints or denims, we rely on contrast and cuts” said Emile. “These timeless gifts of fashion, work heavily on the choice of colour and styles and we encompass this work with every stitch sewn together’. Cheema has been involved with couture and lingerie shoots, choreography and being a stylist to Miss Asian Beauty and Miss Commonwealth International.
A decadent and modern approach to Asian clothing is also a key aspect to the show with Khusbhu Fashions featuring their designer wear and graduate Susmita will showcase her Spring Summer Collection 2011 entitled ‘Indo-Western Fusion’ at the event. Both of these designers will present upcoming Indian and Western European trends, fabrics, colours and embroideries. There will also be an African flavor with designer Yidia presenting funky dresses from her fashion label Aisha.
The night is full of great entertainment with performances from Latin & Salsa dancers and upcoming pop artist Sertari who was nominated for 'Best Live Act' & 'Best Song' in the EMA Awards and she is also working with the likes of J-Ivy, Kanye West, Jay-Z and Akil from Jurassic 5.
There will be great prizes and goodies ranging from Victoria Jackson Make up and designer clothes that will be available in the raffle and auction. Tickets only cost £10 in advance and money raised will be in aid of Shanti’s community projects in India and Nepal, which helps people suffering from AIDs/HIV, victims of Sex trafficking and children with Disabilities.
