By: www.companiesandmarkets.com The new beauty spa concept has been developed over the past year to enhance John Lewis's shopping experience and is a direct response to demand from customers. The spa will offer treatments such as facials, manicures, pedicures, eyebrow/eyelash tinting and threading from a host of premium brands including Clarins, Elemis, Liz Earle, Decleor, Blink and Jessica. The beauty spa concept forms part of John Lewis's long term growth strategy, which commits to investing in existing department stores. This year, refurbishment projects are scheduled in three department stores - Norwich, Cheadle and Reading. The retailer has earmarked a record £250 million pounds for investment in 2011 for existing department stores, new shop openings, e-commerce and infrastructure and the development of innovative retail concepts. John Lewis will also create more than 1,200 jobs with new shop openings, including a full-line department store in Stratford this September, and two more 'at home' shops in Exeter and Chester in the autumn.
