Follow on Google News | Cargo news spreads in AfricaA new publication designed to spread news and information about the supply chain network and business opportunities throughout Africa is scheduled to be launched in time for the African Logistics Summit from March 10-12 in Abuja, Nigeria.
By: African Logistics Summit African Cargo News will be published monthly by the African Cargo and Logistics Alliance (ACLA), the organizers of the African Logistics Summit. ACLA spokesperson Mr Ukata Christian said the new full-colour newspaper would be distributed throughout Africa and internationally via subscription. “The target audiences for African Cargo News will be government agencies, airlines, carriers, port directors and managers, natural resources markets, project cargo and heavy lift specialists, terminal operators, shippers and a diverse range of transport industry service providers,” Mr Christian said. “We believe the potential economic growth and new business development opportunities in Africa will drive strong readership and advertising appeal.” The new editor is Dan Amor who has more than 16 years experience working in the Nigerian media as both an editor and writer. He writes a weekly column in Nigeria and comments on local television about political and economic events. Mr Christian said subscription rates for 12 editions including delivery were $US175 (all African countries) and $US220 for the international edition. He said future plans included a Francophone edition. The African Cargo News will be officially launched at the African Logistics Summit. The Summit is the biggest event of its kind in Africa and brings together government and corporate organizations from throughout the continent and overseas to strengthen business co-operation and foster investment opportunities.
