Comprehensive Logistics Congratulates Teammate on Book Publishing Deal

Feb. 23, 2011 - PRLog -- Comprehensive Logistics Inc. (CLI), a premier provider of highly efficient, engineered logistics services for complex supply chains, congratulates teammate Cherol Martin on the recent publication of her first novel.

Martin’s new book, Promise Me, tells the story of Sharay, an eight-year-old girl in Youngstown, Ohio, who struggles to reconcile her innocent view of the world with the marital strife and domestic violence she witnesses at home. Promise Me is a fictional memoir that examines complex emotions through the eyes of a child.

“I carried this story with me for more than 30 years,” Martin says. “Writing this book was an emotional release for me.” Nearly every night for five years, Martin wrote her story while music played in the background. She has always been interested in the arts and grew up with a natural ability to express herself creatively.

Martin’s appreciation for the arts started early in her childhood. Her mother Pecola first introduced her to gospel music, and today, her brother Marvin is a successful R&B musician. Martin graduated from East High School in Youngstown and raised three of her own children—Andraé, Audra and Ashley.

Currently, she works at CLI’s logistics optimization center in Austintown, Ohio, where she supports the value-added assembly of customized modules that are delivered to assembly lines on a just-in-time basis. She has been employed at the Austintown facility since 2005.

Promise Me is published by AuthorHouse and available through Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble. Martin is currently directing a play based on the book. She also plans to write a sequel.
