On March 2, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., San Diego Boca FC will be hosting an invite-only VIP media event at the Boca Soccer Store, catered by Vigilucci’s Restaurants, to debut their new plans for the 2011 NPSL season. In attendance will be potential and current sponsors of San Diego Boca FC, local soccer enthusiasts, season ticket holders and promotional representatives from the L.A. Galaxy and Club TJ “Xoloitzcuintles”
“Southern California is the greatest place in the world for soccer fans. Everyone here at Boca, our players and our fans can all feel the excitement of the upcoming 2011 NPSL season. The talent on the field is shaping up to our expectations, and even better, we are playing all our home games now at the historic Balboa Stadium located conveniently Downtown.” commented Papo Santos, Head Coach of San Diego Boca FC.
Travis Chesney, General Manager of Boca FC quoted, “We are excited to partner with representatives of the San Diego Classico, (the match between the L.A. Galaxy and Club TJ.) This will bring a lot of positive energy to our VIP Media Conference as we are hoping to see some special guests in attendance from both sides not to mention the entire coaching staff of Boca FC and selected BOCA players will be available for interviews for the press and to answer questions from our fans in attendance.”
The Los Angeles Galaxy will play in an exhibition match against Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles at University of San Diego’s Torero Stadium on March 2 at 7:00 p.m. Two titans of Southern California soccer will clash in the biggest county of soccer fans nationwide. San Diego Boca FC is proud to host representatives from the event to offer final media information prior to the big day!
San Diego Boca FC has prided itself at being at the forefront of bringing professional soccer to San Diego, and recognizes the massive number of soccer fans all around America’s Finest City. San Diego County recorded the largest viewing numbers for every World Cup game and was a strong contender during the U.S.’s World Cup Bid.
Boca is committed to developing strong roots in the Hispanic community, and has put up strong showings against Mexican League teams Venados Merida and Irapuato. San Diego Boca’s bid to unite soccer fans in San Diego is also represented by consistent play by their reserve team in the San Diego County Soccer League and hosting free soccer clinics for local youth teams.
