The Book Depository sees half year sales up 70%

The online book retailer The Book Depository has seen sales continue to grow despite the economic climate and increased competition.

PRLog - Feb. 23, 2011 - In an incredibly competitive and mature market The Book Depository is continuing to show increased revenues. With half year sales of £60m this represents a major success.

“With ever increasing market share, greater global coverage and the broadening of our product base we can only predict further growth”, says Kieron Smith, Managing Director. “Our success is down to three core principles: stocking every title, being keen on prices and providing free shipping anywhere in the world”, he says. “This strategy has seen business grow exponentially since the company was formed in 2004”.

The Book Depository is the UK’s largest dedicated online bookseller offering the largest range of titles in the world. With their Head Office in Windsor and their distribution centre in Gloucester, the company is a unique British internet success story. “We continue to innovate with our online marketing campaigns” says Kieron. “The latest, Spread the Love, has been incredibly successful bringing in new customers from around the world. “

“We continue to create new experiences for our customers and to extend the number of titles. We currently have 6 million available for free shipping anywhere in the world in 48 hours. We guarantee an online shopping experience second to none,” he says.

The Book Depository, one of Europe’s fastest growing online retailers, is now firmly on target for over £120m revenues for the full year.
