Feb. 22, 2011 - PRLog -- “Branding” has become one of the most popular buzzwords in corporate America, and the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) Southwest Chapter is examining brand management at its March meeting. Dr. Chris Wright-Isak will tackle the many facets of branding in today's fluctuating marketing climates. Wright-Isak will define brand management, discuss how branding has changed as a result of emerging media, and examine ways to protect an organization or product’s brand.

“The value of your reputation is the value of your brand name. The single best way to succeed in marketing your brand is to make promises that you can keep, and then keep them. This builds value for both you and your business brand.  The challenge is to be honest with yourself about what promises you can keep,” says Wright-Izak.

The FPRA (http://www.fpraswfl.org) March meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 1 at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theater (1380 Colonial Blvd.) in Fort Myers.  The luncheon meeting will begin at 11:30 a.m.  Guests are welcome to attend.

Wright-Isak holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Chicago, and has worked in corporate marketing and branding since 1986, when she helped re-position the GE Corporate brand and developed the positioning strategy for the launch of the Lever 2000 brand.
She has served as the NY American Marketing Association’s national Advertising Effectiveness Competition Chief Judge, and has also been honored with the Gold Ogilvy Medallion, the highest award presented by the Advertising Research Foundation.

Wright-Isak is currently an Assistant Professor of Marketing at FGCU’s Lutgert College of Business, teaching marketing and integrated brand promotions. She also continues to serve as a marketing consultant, working recently on the campaign to reposition the Champion athletic wear brand, an experience she shares with her students.

The cost to attend the February luncheon meeting is $20 for members, $25 for non-members and $10 for students. Walk-ins are welcome for an additional fee of $5. For reservations or information, visit http://www.fpraswfl.org.

Established in 1938, FPRA (http://www.fpra.org) is the oldest public relations organization in the country. FPRA is dedicated to developing public relations practitioners, who, through ethical and standardized practices, enhance the public relations profession in Florida.
