‘Jump for Home Safe’ Raises Funds to Help Victims of Child Abuse and Domestic Violence

Equestrian fundraising event supports Home Safe's efforts to help victims of child abuse and domestic violence.

Feb. 22, 2011 - PRLog -- By all accounts, the sold-out ‘Jump for Home Safe’ was a successful fundraising event widely embraced by the equestrian community at the scenic Palm Beach International Equestrian Center.  The event, created to support the non-profit organization, Home Safe, raised over $36,000.  Home Safe helps victims of child abuse and domestic violence, and serves over 15,000 infants, children and families annually in Palm Beach County and surrounding communities.

‘Jump for Home Safe’ was created by Event Chair and Home Safe Board Member, Cherie Copenhaver, which provided Home Safe supporters with a memorable, fun-filled family-friendly experience. Guests were treated to spectacular VIP views of world-class equestrian jumping from their dining tables while enjoying a delectable dinner and dessert, and the evening-long open bar. Throughout the event, attendees competitively bid to win an extensive array of ‘must-have’ silent auction items – while younger guests competed in the horseless jump competition for a chance to win prizes.

“We’re proud of the success of this first-year event,” said Cherie Copenhaver, event chair and a Home Safe board member.  “I’m especially appreciative of Georgina Bloomberg serving as honorary chairwoman for ‘Jump for Home Safe’ to aid Home Safe’s efforts in protecting children and families from abuse and violence.”

Equestrian and philanthropist, Georgina Bloomberg, not only served as the event’s honorary chairwoman, but also competed in the evening’s Nepresso ‘Battle of the Sexes’ – with Bloomberg being a member of the winning team. Bloomberg is actively involved in charitable work, and lent her strong support to raise funds and awareness for Home Safe.

In addition to Bloomberg serving as honorary event chair and Cherie Copenhaver as event chair, individuals named as event co-chairs included: Charles Moorcroft, J Bar Ranch (Jennifer Bieling), Stepping Stone Farm (Sandy Kelly, Monty Kelly, Amy Momrow, Shaine Brooks), and Sweet Oak Farm (Shane and Ali Sweetnam).

Event committee members included: Ann Marie Barry, Amy Carpenter, Caron Dockerty, Gwen Dvorkin, Jessica Eisenfelder, Megan Eisenfelder, Brittany Hammel, Jacqui Hammel, Lynn Holcomb, Janet Lano, Jackie Lano, Ada Molina, Lisa Mills, Alice Nelson, Hannah Patten, Gloria Pierson, Brooke Qualk, Karen Roderman, Kayla Roderman, Maggie Stolzberg, and Rob Vargas.
