Feb. 22, 2011 - PRLog -- The exhibition “Ghirlandaio: A family of painters in and around Florence” from November, 21st up to May, 1st is dedicated to the Ghirlandaio Family.
The Ghirlandaio Family was one of the main characters of the Renaissance. By visiting this itinerant exhibition you can admire the family’s relationship with the Florentine area.
The Ghirlandaio Family worked in and around Florence, in Scandicci in particular, for this reason there isn't one exhibition only but a lot of places to visit.
The main exhibition site in Scandicci is Castello dell’Acciaiolo; in Florence the exhibition takes place in Palazzo Medici Riccardi.
Every Sundays there is a guided bus tour, stops include: Castello dell'Acciaiolo, Badia a Settimo, the Religious Art Museum of San Martino a Gangalandi (Lastra a Signa) and the Religious Art Museum of San Donnino (Campi Bisenzio).
There is also a free map showing the places in Florence where you can admire other Ghirlandaio’s traces and frescoes.
