Feb. 22, 2011 - PRLog -- Banking Sector: Loan Growth Recovery Continues  We maintain our view that the recovery in bank lending will continue through 2011, accelerating to  11.0% y-o-y, before stabilizing at approximately 9% from 2012 onwards. We see the Jordanian banking  sector in a relatively stable position, with loans to the private sector continuing to account for almost half  of the total assets, and the government putting serious effort into promoting stress testing and early  warning systems.    We believe that the trough of Jordan's banking sector slowdown occurred in 2010, opening the way for a  recovery from 2011 onwards. Indeed, the three largest banks: Commercial Bank of Jordan , Jordan  Arab Land Bank and Jordan Islamic Bank recorded either stagnating or slightly lower profits in Q310  compared to the same period in 2009, according to their most recent financial statements. Going forward,  however, we see the fundamental recovery in Jordan's banking sector gaining further momentum, and we  forecast asset growth to accelerate and we revise up our 2011 forecast to 11.0% from 7.0% previously.  Beyond 2011, asset growth is projected to remain relatively high and consolidate at about 9.0% through  2015. Lending to the private sector will continue to be the main driver of banks' asset growth, accounting  for almost half of the total.
