Feb. 22, 2011 - PRLog -- With 2010 under their belt, a year which included breakout performances at Hillside, S.C.E.N.E Fest, Windsor Famfest, Sauble Beach Fest, the release of a music video and an EP, My Son The Hurricane is a band that you need to see to believe.

Calling both Niagara Region and Toronto, ON home, the band is poised to release their first full length album “You Can’t Do This” on Copperspine Records. “You Can’t Do This” finds the 14 piece band settling into their sound, a mixture of brass and hip-hop with rhythmic and melodic punches.

With the motto, “Anything worth doing, is worth overdoing” the stage show features an even larger lineup than in 2010. Emcee Jacob Bergsma punctuates the band as the rhyming frontman, taking a lyrical stand on this album in tracks “Life of an Emcee” and “Pushin' Up Daisies” a track which features Nigel Williams formerly of The Pocket Dwellers. Tracks like
“Honour Among Thieves” on the album still keep up the flare and fun that made their debut E.P. “Check the Barometer” a media favourite and garnered much attention on 2010 “Best Of…” lists. Spring tour dates are still confirming and will be announced shortly.

My Son The Hurricane is currently seeking reviews/features/song spotlights etc for the album. Please contact andrew@eventsouth.com to get an advanced copy of the album, appropriate art files etc.
