The event was hosted by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and the Office of Technology and Acquisition (OTIA) in order to showcase new technologies that could help meet the goal set by Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano to improve the overall efficiency, coverage, and effectiveness of border control.
Over 200 people attended the event which was specifically focused on the unique challenges faced by agents along the Southwest border of the U.S. and Mexico.
