Jeff Owen’s sculpture, Amazing Wonder Jitney, is a bold, whimsical, dynamic, assemblage sculpture inspired by Rauschenberg from discarded and unloved metal and materials. Owen's sculpture along with other accepted sculptures will be on display from April 30 to September 23, 2011 at Santa Clara City Hall during normal business hours, Monday through Friday 9 AM to 5 PM, from April 30th to September 23rd, 2011 at 1500 Warburton Ave, Santa Clara, CA. This is Jeff Owen’s fourth invitation to the City of Santa Clara’s Sculpture Exhibitions. This exhibition was juried by City of Santa Clara Cultural Art Commissions and sponsored by the City of Santa Clara. http://santaclaraca.gov/
Jeff Owen, nationally known and local bay area artist, is known for his unique abstract steel sculptures using found metal. His ability to cut and weld metal allows him to create any art he desires. The shapes of metal, its patterns, textures and grains; all entice him to create. He expresses his creativity in patterns, creates when his creative force is flowing, and sculpts to completion. He aspires to create sculptures that are different and unique, that no one has done before.
