A PROGRAM SAMPLE:

A classic Beacon Holidays tour is the 11 day, 10 night “Best of Kenya” program which commences in the capital, Nairobi. Guests overnight at the Nairobi Safari Club before beginning their adventure trek at Samburu Game Reserve. Upon arrival at Samburu Sopa Lodge, guests take in sweeping views of the Samburu Hills and the snow- capped peak of El Ndonyo Keri – better known as Mount Kenya.

Featuring 30 high-ceiling cottages and private verandas designed to blend in with Samburu aesthetics, each beautifully-appointed dwelling also offers unsurpassed views of the roaming wildlife taking refuge at Samburu Sopa Lodge’s private waterhole.

The next adventure begins on a game drive into the heart of the arid grasslands of Samburu National Reserve, a natural habitat to herds of the endangered Grevy zebra and gerenuk (long-necked gazelle), as well as the Somali ostrich. The area is also home to the nomadic pastoral Samburu people who are closely connected to the Maasi.

At Aberdare National Park in Kenya’s Central Highlands, guests enjoy an afternoon drive across the ancient bedrock of Mount Kenya. Along the way a lunch is enjoyed at Aberdare Country Club with an overnight stay at Ark Lodge, a classic Kenyan ‘tree hotel’ with its own waterhole and saltlick. From the lodge’s wide verandas guests can watch herds of African elephant; rhino, buffalo and lions wade in the water and quench their thirst.

Taking in Nyahururu Falls and the floodplains of Lake Nakuru National Park, a sanctuary for up to two million flamingos, white rhinos and over 500 other species of birds, guests likewise enjoy viewing giraffe, gazelle and baboons.

Another program highlight is the trek to Maasai Mara Game Reserve, where Big Five viewing across the rolling grasslands of Kenya is equally as memorable as visiting the local Maasai – once Eastern Africa’s most fearsome warriors. Also a habitat for cheetahs, lion and buffalo, the most incredible spectacle takes place in spring with the migration of thundering wildebeest across the arid plains. Guests enjoy two nights at Mara Camp before returning to Nairobi for an overnight stay and enjoy a day at leisure.

The Best of Kenya” program concludes in Amboseli National Park on the border of Kenya and Tanzania.

Enjoying morning views of Mount Kilimanjaro, guests embark on a game drive through the Park, a natural habitat for prides of lions, impalas, monkeys, baboons, buffalo, hippopotamus and Amboseli elephants. After an overnight stay at a Park lodge, guests return to Nairobi the following morning for their international departure.

The “Best of Kenya” program for are based on  four-star accommodation  and the five-star accommodation. Air fares are quoted on the guest’s personal choice of airline and accommodation can be tailored to their individual requirements and budget.
