Credit card debt relief is today the most preferred method of getting out of unsecured debts. This method has helped many consumers to get rid of the unsecured loans and it is expected that the number will only increase. There are several reasons why people think that debt settlement programs will increase in 2011. The reasons are mentioned below:
* The total number of consumers facing debt troubles is overwhelming. The creditor know that if they do not agree to the debt settlement deals, the consumers will file for bankruptcy and this will mean billions of dollars of loss for the creditors. Since the creditors do not want this loss, they are accepting more and more debt settlement deals. This will prevent bankruptcy for the creditors themselves.
* The government policies of creditors' tax breaks and stimulus cash has helped the creditors a lot. The creditors who agree for debt settlement programs will have to pay less taxes and they will get unrestricted access to the stimulus cash to cover up their loss. The creditors are not allowed to use the stimulus cash for direct lending. Nonetheless, the creditors know that they will get government aid to make up for the loss and hence, they will accept more settlement deals from the consumers.
* The debt relief act passed on 27th October, 2010 has prohibited the collection of fees upfront and hence, the fraud settlement companies which cheated the consumers were put out of business. This increased the security for the consumers and the settlement programs became more authentic. Hence, the settlement programs are expected to increase in 2011.
