16th Annual Taste Dinner Set for May 3 with "Reservations Required"

Feb. 23, 2011 - PRLog -- Please join The Southern Ocean County Community Foundation and the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce for the feel and taste good event of the year! An evening of favorite dishes from iconic restaurants that have changed the culinary landscape of our country while supporting the seven local food banks within our area. The 16th Annual Taste of Southern Ocean Hunger Relief dinner titled “Reservations Required” will take place on Tuesday May 3 at Sea Oaks Country Club in Little Egg Harbor beginning at 5:30pm.

This evening is full of surprises; .Remember Bookbinders?  The Brown Derby? Chasens? The Stork Club?  These are just some of the restaurants that will be represented, as our magnificent  chefs bring their signatures dishes out of the past for you to enjoy one more time. In addition to this multi course dinner, the night features a silent auction packed with items that would make fabulous Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Birthday and Graduation gifts. Take part or sit back and watch the excitement of the live auction which features one of a kind opportunity to bid on amazing packages such as Chef’s preparing your next party. All auction items are generously given to help increase the donations we will be able to make to Long Beach Island, Barnegat, Stafford, Little Egg, Waretown and Tuckerton food banks, including Ken’s Kitchen. The cost of a ticket is  $125 per person and includes the chefs’ outstanding culinary offerings, music, table games and prizes, 3 in 1 Raffle with must have items, such as the popular Dine Around where you can win a dinner for two to all the wonderful restaurants that our chefs’ represent and other surprises as the evening unfolds.  

Last year’s event was a sellout and resounding success raising  over $50,000 that directly went to our food banks.
