Follow on Google News | BESI Offers National Certification Course for Defective (Chinese) Drywall Inspection and RemediationNational Training & Certification Seminar on Defective Drywall for inspection and remediation is being held April 11-12, 2011. The most comprehensive, two-day course offered for certification and accepted by the ACAC for 16 recertification credits.
The certification for Defective Drywall inspection and remediation is the most comprehensive course offered and covers topics such as inspection/identification techniques, corrosion, cross-contamination of building materials and personal belongings, multiple remediation methods, preservation of evidence, warranty program, scientific data, and removal of the stigma from having defective drywall. Those that earn a designation as a remediator or consultant through the institute will have attended a two-day course with a written final exam; and inspectors will have attend a one-day course with a written final exam. Each attendee must meet prerequisites such as, years of experience in the industry and being in good standing with the state if they are licensed (required for those performing remediation) Graduates of this course have an opportunity to qualify their work for a 10-year, renewable warranty which provides coverage form $100,00 up to $500,000. The warranty is offered through National Construction Warranty (NCW); BESI has been a NCW recognized training provider for inspectors and remediators dealing with Defective “Chinese” Drywall since our first certification course in October 2009. This two-day course is also accepted by the American Council for Accredited Certification (ACAC) for sixteen (16) recertification credits (Registration #10092301). IAQ professionals needing recertification credits should attend the training, to gain valuable knowledge about this indoor air quality issue while receiving recertification credits.
