Inaugural Domestic Violence Book Signing a Surprising “Hit”.

Feb. 17, 2011 - PRLog -- Tempe, AZ – Author Stephanie Angelo and domestic abuse survivor Tracy Stombres presented their book Serrated: A True Story of Survival, Recovery and the Pursuit of Justice at their inaugural book signing Wednesday January 26, 2011 at the Changing Hands Bookstore in Tempe.

True Crime readers, victim advocates, members of the professional community and fans of Changing Hands Bookstore met the two women who brought the story of unthinkable domestic violence to readers.  “We were stunned by the number of people who attended”, said Serrated author, Stephanie Angelo.  “We expected 20, hoped for 40; and over 60 people showed up.  They had to find extra chairs and still people were standing!”

The pair told the story of a crime so horrific it made national headlines, and got Stombres an invitation to appear on The Montel Williams Show after her recovery. (She appeared on a July 2003 episode called “When Love Snaps”).

Phoenix news media, in 2001, buzzed to life reporting details of the assault on Tracy Stombres.  Her story is captured by Stephanie Angelo who created a fascinating “can’t put it down” journey; taking the reader from a dismal childhood, to unimaginable horror, to a hopeful future.

Event attendee, Gene Martinez said, “Tracy's emotion as she told her personal story along with Stephanie’s professionalism and personal commitment to address this issue really came through for me and I believe others in attendance. This not a women's issue this is a problem that affects us all and will only be resolved when both men and women care enough to resolve it.”
