Rossmoor Park Revitalized With a Donation of a Dust-Free Soil from Stabilizer Solutions

Company Donates 75 Tons of Hilltopper® Infield Mix to Reduce Dust and Appease Neighbors

Feb. 17, 2011 - PRLog -- PHOENIX– Neighbor complaints in the city of Los Alamitos, California, regarding the plumes of dust that rose from the playing fields of Rossmoor Park, nearly forced the park to close.  Home to the Los Alamitos Girls Softball League (LAGSL) for more than 34 years, the traditional dirt infield soil particles had broken down and were blanketing neighbors’ homes with a thick layer of dust every time the wind picked up. Thankfully, soil technology company Stabilizer Solutions, stepped in and donated 75 tons of their Hilltopper® Infield Mix to help repair the field and give the LAGSL a permanent place to play.
Stabilizer Solutions’ Hilltopper “waterless” Infield Mix is comprised of natural soil enhanced with polymer, allowing the particles of the soil to bind together, keeping the soil stable eliminating dust completely. Since the polymer in the soil maintains the optimal amount of moisture, Hilltopper Infield Mix also provides additional protection from the elements – ensuring that the LAGSL can enjoy this field in rain or shine for decades to come.
“Dust is our biggest challenge in operating the league within the community where homeowners literally border the fields on all sides,” said Tim Humphrey, field maintenance director for LAGSL. “Stabilizer Solutions and its products were the solution to our challenge. Stabilizers’ polymer infield mix is nearly dust free and allowed us to improve not only our field, but our relationship with our community.”

“When we were approached to assist with this project, we knew our Hilltopper Infield Mix was the perfect solution. Its water controlling feature is exactly what this field needed to put an end to the dust that was plaguing the surrounding community,” said Jon Hubbs, president of Stabilizer Solutions. “It’s a great feeling knowing that our product will not only allow these athletes, but generations of athletes to come, to play on the fields of Rossmoor Park.”
