Follow on Google News | Sickened From Play Boy PartyLooking to investing in Domain names has left dozens of people ill.
By: Lynthomas Attendees started tweeting and posting their symptoms on Face book and that's when many become aware of a trend. Within 48 hours dozens of victims reported having come down with symptoms that included pneumonia, violent headaches, fever, and respiratory problems. Local health authorities were alerted and the agency sent out an e-mail to all attendees, warning them that they had received a cluster of reports of people becoming ill after attending the conference and the Playboy Mansion event, according to the LA Times. Four male attendees from Sweden were diagnosed with Legionellosis, or pontiac fever, a milder form of Legionnaires', created through bacteria that thrives in warm air-conditioning systems. The health department is also investigating the Fairmont Hotel, where a party took place on the first night of the conference. Many laid the blame on a fog machine that was used at the Playboy mansion, but none of the Playboy staff fell ill. “It knocked me off my feet for five days,” said David Costello, 54, co-founder of Castello Cities Internet Network Inc. “I’m over it now, but I’m still feeling fatigue, which is not a good thing”. Castello’s brother was outside for most of the night and did not fall ill. The DOMAINfest conference is all about a small but quickly expanding industry that centres around domain investors: individuals who understand that domain names are the ‘real estate’ of the Internet.
